Lawyers differ on Labour's "Hobbit law" pledge

Top lawyers differ in their opinions about whether the Hobbit law change should be repealed.

The National government changed the law in 2010 to make all film workers independent contractors by default, following negotiations with Warner Bros executives in 2010 aimed at ensuring the Hobbit movies were made in New Zealand and not offshore.
