Lawyers reject obscene haste of cuddle-up deal

Pro-independent Auckland lawyers rose up this week against an “obscenely hasty” undemocratic national unification plan which could cost them their $15 million heritage headquarters.

About 200 members of the Auckland district law society (ADLSI) turned out on Monday night for a vigorous and at times vitriolic debate challenging a plan for ADLSI to re-unite with the Wellington-based New Zealand Law Society (NZLS).
