Let’s end climate talks farce
This month’s Warsaw climate change talks have concluded, um, “successfully”.
That’s according to the UN’s Framework Convention on Climate Change (FCCC) website.
The 10,000-strong UN jamboree was the ninth since the Kyoto Protocol came into force in 2005 and the nineteenth since the 1992 Earth Summit in Rio. It will not be the last.
The most important outcome is that delegates have confirmed they will meet again, next December in Lima. A series of preparatory meetings will be held, including a major one in Venezuela.
