LGNZ wants law change over amalgamations

Local Government New Zealand wants a law change for reorganising local authorities.

LGNZ members held their annual general meeting over the past weekend in Nelson.

They passed three remits.

One of them requires LGNZ to form a new policy about reorganisation of local authorities – requiring a majority of potential voters for any request for change.
