Major supermarkets outline parking fears

The two mega supermarket players fear proposed parking restrictions in Auckland will hamper their businesses.

Countdown Progressive and Foodstuffs, which owns New World and Pak'nSave, have outlined their concerns about parking in separate submissions on Auckland’s Unitary Plan.

Development of new supermarkets will be an integral part of Auckland’s growth and Progressive estimates at least 30 new supermarkets will be needed over the next 30 years to serve another one million people in the Auckland region.
