OPINION: Why Winston Peters endangers freedom

If New Zealand First leader Winston Peters has evidence Revenue Minister Peter Dunne leaked the GCSB report he should produce it or shut up.

By forcing Mr Dunne into making a denial to a claim he has failed to produce any facts to support, Mr Peters has again shown how low he is prepared to crawl to remind people he exists.

Unashamedly cringing behind parliamentary privilege to make his allegation, he has shown bare-faced contempt for a convention which permits MPs to speak freely in Parliament.
