Order in the House: Calvert's opening salvo

Freshly sworn-in Act Party MP Hilary Calvert fired the opening salvo of today's parliamentary question time session.Taking up her predecessor David Garrett's question time portfolio, Ms Calvert asked Attorney-General Chris Finlayson to support a specific new provision in the Marine and Coastal Area Bill to prevent customary title holders charging for access.As Mr Finlayson repeated several times to Ms Calvert during their somewhat circular exchange, the bill as drafted does not permit charging for public access to the marine and coastal area.
