Order in the House: Public access and sensitive sales

The Act Party and Attorney-General Chris Finlayson have locked horns in the media over the weight and substance of Mr Finlayson's concession to new Act MP Hilary Calvert yesterday.Act claims the National Party will support its proposed amendment to include a specific prohibition on customary title holders charging for public access to New Zealand beaches.Mr Finlayson has agreed to consider the proposal once it is drafted - and said the Marine and Coastal Area Bill already prohibits charging for public access.
