Ports of Auckland court battle shelved

An Employment Court hearing over the Ports of Auckland industrial dispute has been shelved while the parties re-start discussions.

Ports of Auckland and the Maritime Union of New Zealand have been negotiating a new collective agreement since August 2011 – which degenerated into a series of strikes, lockouts and court disputes, and also resulted in Auckland losing dairy giant Fonterra’s business to Port of Tauranga.
