Power companies left in the dark until ComCom’s decision

The Commerce Commission has delayed its draft decision on the best rate of return for assessing company profitability, leaving power companies worrying the uncertainty will turn off investors.

The commission had promised a draft report by Monday, but delayed it to July 22 – instead releasing five independent expert opinions on whether the weighted average cost of capital (WACC) should be lowered or not.
