Shareholders see red over boardroom coup

A shareholders meeting for Claridge Capital turned into a farce today when chairman Evan Davis and director Roger Gower resigned their seats at the outset.

The pair faced being dumped anyway following resolutions put forward by John Sorensen’s Flinders Holdings, which holds about 9% of Claridge.

Mr Sorensen’s resolutions sought to replace Mr Davis and Mr Gower with Brett Wilkinson and accountant Donald Gibson after the incumbent directors had disagreed with a proposed reverse takeover opportunity.
