Shipping lines anchor their thoughts on Kotahi deal

Players in the New Zealand freight shipping market are waiting to see which way the wind blows before taking strategic steps in response to the recently announced deal between Kotahi and Maersk Line – or even publicly commenting on it.

The deal sees Kotahi providing up to 2.5 million TEU (twenty foot equivalent) export cargo containers to international shipping company Maersk Line over the next decade, an internationally unprecedented length of time for such an agreement.
