SUBSCRIBER-ONLY POLL RESULT: Is Amy Adams right that the Unitary Plan is too constraining?

Environment Minister Amy Adams thinks the Auckland unitary plan isn’t bold enough for what the city requires and a majority of NBR member subscribers agree with her.

The plan will set out rules for Auckland’s expansion over the next 30 years, a period when the city is predicted to grow quickly. Ms Adams says the plan hasn’t made the necessary tough decisions.

Over half of poll participants at 58% say Ms Adams is right and that the unitary plan is too constraining. Those who think the minister is wrong make up the balance of 42%.
