Telecom Wholesale gets acting chief exec
Telecom Wholesale has appointed its GM of marketing, Nick Clarke, as its acting chief executive.
So far, the Telecom division has no word on the hunt to replace its departing head, Matt Crockett.
Mr Crockett - number four on NBR's Technology Power List resigned as Telecom Wholesale chief executive on April 12, saying only that it was time to move on. He did not have another position lined-up. Since that time, Telecom has mused publically about structurally separating its wholesale and retail operations.
At the same time, Mr Crockett resigned from the board of the 50% Telecom-owned Southern Cross Cables Network.
A spokeswoman told NBR that Mr Crockett is gradually transitioning work to Mr Clarke (pictured above).
Mr Crockett is due to leave at the end of this month.
Mr Clarke has recently been in the news announcing mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) deals that will see Zintel and Telcoinabox join Digital Island in selling a re-badged version of Telecom's 3G mobile network.
Until his recent appointment as GM of marketing, he served as Telecom Wholesale's head of industry relations and undertakings.
Before joining Telecom in 2008, Mr Clarke worked for six years as a commercial manager at Woosh Wireless.
