Troubled publisher Trends refuses to pay brokerage fees for $12 million in loans

A dispute between Trends International, which publishes architecture and design magazines, and its finance company has wound up in court.

According to a High Court judgment Trends had hired Dalgety Finance to find a new bank and to refinance loans of $12.1 million.

Trends said it was not getting appropriate rates of finance from its current bank – but there was also evidence it had been in financial difficulty and was the subject of “intervention” by its existing bank, the judgment reveals.
