'This is what they do in China' – Guy Salmon slams RMA reforms

Resource Management Act changes announced today will give ministers similar powers to Chinese government officials and is worse than Muldoon-era National Development Act, a former government adviser says.

Guy Salmon, who advised the government on its first wave of Resource Management Act changes in 2009-10 and who is also involved in the National Party ginger group the BlueGreens, says the changes announced by Environment Minister Amy Adams go too far.

“There’s some good things here, but they are being spoiled by the rest of it,” Mr Salmon told NBR ONLINE.
