Bank as phone company: Telecom XT wholesaler hooks up with credit union
Deal said to be first of its type.
Deal said to be first of its type.
Australasian company Telcoinabox - one of a clutch of companies that resells access Telecom's XT network - has announced a wholesale deal.
But it's not (yet) the big ISP hook-up the Aussie company has been hinting at.
Rather, Telcoinabox has signed a partnership agreement with financial cooperative New Zealand Credit Union (NZCU) South.
Under the deal, which Telcoinabox bills as a first for a banking institution, NZCU South's 25,000 members will be offered fixed, broadband and mobile phone plans.
Member to member mobile call rates will be as little as 15 cents/minute and 35 cents/minute to non-members.
