Chapman Tripp announces three new partners

Chapman Tripp is pleased to announce the appointment of three new partners, effective December 1, 2017.

In the Auckland office, Hamish Bolland becomes a property partner.

In our Wellington office, Lucy Cooper becomes a competition and regulatory partner, and Tim Sherman a commercial and technology, media and communications partner.

Auckland

Hamish Bolland, construction and major projects
Mr Bolland specialises in construction and major projects. He has worked on projects in New Zealand, and overseas, in a number of sectors, including infrastructure, mining, energy, water, oil and gas, commercial and residential.

He has advised on project finance transactions, including some of the largest and most complex projects in the Middle East. Mr Bolland joined Chapman Tripp in 2014 having previously worked for Allen & Overy in Dubai, where he acted for sponsors undertaking major projects in the Gulf region and financial institutions lending to those projects.

Wellington

Lucy Cooper, competition and regulation
Ms Cooper specialises in competition law and has extensive experience advising domestic and international clients on merger clearances, cartel investigations and other competition law and consumer protection issues.

She joined Chapman Tripp in 2013 after working for Slaughter and May in London and King & Wood Mallesons in Sydney.

Tim Sherman, Corporate and Commercial
Mr Sherman specialises in corporate and commercial law, focusing on technology projects, intellectual property, joint ventures, commercial contracts, and consumer and privacy law. He advises clients across a broad range of industries, including ICT, energy, banking and insurance, as well as film, television and video games.

Mr Sherman also plays a leading role in Zeren, the firm’s innovation business, and has led and delivered several substantial legal automation projects for Chapman Tripp clients.
