DraftFCB Media scored big at last night’s CAANZ Media Awards, held at Auckland hotel The Langham.

NBR also made its annual best-dressed man and best-dressed woman awards – click here to see the photos and results.

FCB scored five gold awards, three silver awards and three of the top “big” awards at last night’s show: best in show; media agency of the year; and the leadership award for managing director Derek Lindsay.

The agency’s closest competitor was OMD with two golds and 14 silver.

ZenithOptimedia scored a gold and a silver; MediaWorks TV won a gold and Total Media took home three silver.

Starcom and Ogilvy won one silver apiece.

FCB won for its Mini Soho and Ministry of Health work and TVNZ won media brand of the year.

FCB’s media agency of the year title was awarded for “outstanding achievements in meeting core business goals in conjunction with constantly striving to be a great place to work.”

Mr Lindsay, who received the leadership award, has headed up the agency media team since 2006.

He has managed to sail the media ship through the recession and end up with more clients, staff and revenue than forecast.

A total of 13 gold and 23 silvers were awarded as well as a highly commended award.
