Fonterra is raising up to $250 million by selling bonds.

The dairy co-operative today signalled the sale of senior unsecured bonds will open in February or March.

ANZ, Westpac Institutional Bank and BNZ are joint lead managers.

The money raised will be used for general business purposes and will also partly replace a euro medium-term note maturing in April 2010.
