The Wall Street Journal says Apple has cut parts orders following weaker than expected demand for the iPhone 5. The paper, which has proved reliable with previous iPhone rumours, says "Apple's orders for iPhone 5 screens for the January-March quarter, for example, have dropped to roughly half of what the company had previously planned to order."
Disney will track the movements of visitors to its Orlando theme park using wireless wrist bands.
The Verge surveys the giant annual CES trade show and concludes It's official: 3D is dead.
The family of internet freedom agitator and alleged hacker Aaron Swartz has condemed the US goverment and MIT for their role in his suicide, which it calls "the product of a criminal justice system rife with intimidation and prosecutorial overreach, The Guardian reports.
The Wall Street Journal says Swartz was strained by his pending case for allegedly downloading millions of files from a subscription-only academic site (for which he faced up to 35 years in jail and up to $US1 million in fines, but adds he was known to have suffered from depression.
