SUBSCRIBER-ONLY POLL RESULT: What action should the government take on the minimum wage this year?

NBR ONLINE subscribers polled were largely split on whether to keep the current minimum wage or raise it $1 to $14.75 this year.

NBR ONLINE subscribers were asked whether minimum wage should stay the same, be raised $1, or a hike scrapped altogether in favour of boosting targeted assistance.

Prime Minister John Key recently announced a hike in minimum wage but has not said how much.

It’s expected Labour will propose a rise to $15 and the Greens to $18-plus. National is likely to propose a $1.25 or less hike.
