High flying Auckland real estate agent, Margaret (Marnie) Adams, is under fire from the Real Estate Agents Disciplinary Tribunal.

She is answering reckless contravention charges that she sold a house but failed to reveal that she helped buy it.

Ms Adams funded the buyer into the property with a loan of $187,000 with the aim of refurbishing it for another sale.

Ms Adams had worked for Bayleys until early 2011 when she took up with Sothebys. The offending allegedly took place when she was with Bayleys.

The Real Estate Agents Disciplinary Tribunal has yet to decide on the case but Ms Adams could receive a $15,000 penalty if found guilty
