Australia says TPP by December. So close, yet so far
Australia says the major details of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) could be completed by the end of 2014.
After meeting for bilateral talks with the US Trade Representative (USTR) Michael Froman last week, Australia’s Trade and Investment minister Andrew Robb says a ministerial-level meeting scheduled for late October could finalise the deal.
“We are a very long way down the track. In fact I’d say that with the whole deal we are about 90% of the way there,” Mr Robb said in the US capital.
