Car Torque: Aussie car market not so lucky

Although the growth of new-car sales in New Zealand shows no sign of slowing, the market in Australia has hit a serious speed bump. August 2014 sales of 88,157 were well down on the same period last year (93,336) and the market as a whole has fallen 19,307 units in the year to date.

Each of Australia’s top three brands suffered a severe drop in August. Toyota was down 11.9%, Holden 18.6% and Mazda a massive 23.4%.
