Facebook making ads more targeted

The world’s biggest social media website will allow users to choose categories they are interested in, allowing ads to be more targeted.

Facebook is rolling out ‘ad preferences,' an improvement on its use of broad demographic information. The current algorithm for advertising targets users based on the pages they have 'liked.' However, ad preferences will allow users to select specific categories they are interested in or are relevant to them.
