Ferry operator says no 'grounding'

Auckland ferry operator SeaLink has denied an eyewitness account a ferry ran aground this morning at Musick Pt, on the Bucklands Beach headland.

NBR ONLINE received a tip-off about what appeared to be a ferry run aground at the point, from an eyewitness who is a regular observer of Auckland harbour activities and is familiar with shipping movements.

SeaLink operates car and passenger ferry services to Waiheke and Great Barrier Islands, from the city and Half Moon Bay.

SeaLink managing director Todd Bolton says "there has been no grounding of any SeaLink vessel".
