Noise complaints don't wash with NZ Windfarms

New Zealand Windfarms has gone to the High Court in a bid to overturn an Environment Court decision which went against its Manawatu wind farm.

The company’s lawyer Justin Smith today told Wellington High Court Justice Joe Williams upholding the decision would have consequences for other wind farms and “noise-emitting activities”.

Last July the Environment Court released its decision into noise complaints stemming from New Zealand Windfarms’ 97-turbine Te Rere Hau windfarm, east of Palmerston North.
