TVNZ comes out on top of election coverage ratings
Just as there were winners and losers in the election, there was a winner and loser on TV election coverage. Vote 2014 (TV One) attracted more viewers than Decision 14 (TV3) on Saturday night but media commentators were more impressed with the latter.
Ratings from Nielsen show that, on average, TV One kept around 493,000 pairs of eyeballs on the screen throughout the night.
TV3 trailed behind with 274,000 viewers on average but its coverage ran 20 minutes longer than TV One.
