Len Brown's view of Boobs on Bikes

Auckland mayor Len Brown is "not a fan" of Boobs on Bikes, his spokesman says, as the 10th anniversary edition of the event looms.

Pornography magnate Steve Crow's event will be staged down Queen St on November 9 – a day before royals Prince Charles and his wife Camilla arrive for a six-day New Zealand tour.

Given the event will be a decade old, is it now an established part of the rich tapestry of the city's events? Does it fit in with the mayor's vision for the city?

Glyn Jones, the mayor's spokesman, says: "The mayor supports the right of Aucklanders to lawful freedom of expression and events that add life and attract visitors to Auckland.

"He is not a fan of this event."

In a statement, Mr Crow says this year's event will not feature any international porn stars.

Instead, it will focus on "Kiwi men and women who will celebrate their right to express their pride in their bodies".
