2degrees appoints Drew Davies CFO

Davies brings experience from a 26-year career in the fixed and mobile telecommunications industry and for the past two years has also been a director of 2degrees.

Full service telecommunications challenger 2degrees has appointed Andrew (‘Drew’) Davies as its new Chief Financial Officer.

Davies will replace Mark Aue, who the company announced as its next chief executive following the August 2018 retirement of Stewart Sherriff.
Davies’ appointment will see Aue become CEO on July 1, with Stewart Sherriff becoming a director on the 2degrees board.
Davies is currently executive vice-president corporate development at 2degrees’ majority shareholder Trilogy International Partners, has served as Trilogy’s chief financial officer and held senior finance and operational roles with T-Mobile USA over a 26-year career in the fixed and mobile telecommunications industry. For the past two years Davies has also been a director of 2degrees.
2degrees’ incoming chief executive Aue said Drew’s appointment followed an extensive international search that attracted a number of high-quality candidates from New Zealand and abroad.
“Drew’s extensive industry experience and background in multiple complex financial transactions is complemented by his passion for 2degrees. He’s been a huge supporter of what the team has achieved in its first 10 years of operation and a strong champion for what we can do in future as we continue to ‘Fight for Fair’ for kiwi consumers,” Aue said.
“In terms of maintaining our momentum as a growth company, it will be especially helpful to have a CFO that has a strong working relationship with our shareholders. Drew is busy making arrangements to move from Seattle and I look forward to having him join our executive team in June,” Aue said.
For Davies, the new role will be a return to a part of the world he knows well. Drew lived in the Auckland suburb of Papatoetoe before his family moved to Australia, where he spent his teen years.
“I’ve been fortunate enough to watch the 2degrees story unfold personally over the last nine years while I have been at Trilogy. 2degrees has continued to surprise industry watchers everywhere via innovation and disruptive pricing that made it one of the world’s fastest growing late entrant mobile operators, said Davies.
“Having seen the company evolve into a full-service telco with a national mobile and broadband network it’s very well placed to grow and I’m really looking forward to being part of its future,” he said.
