Ogilvy has made a double pitch win, picking up the Rugby World Cup marketing activity tendered by Auckland Tourism, Events and Economic Development (ATEED) and the Pharmacybrands business (Life Pharmacy, Unichem, Amcal).
The exact scope of the ATEED business is yet to be finalised but it's worth $650,000 tops, according to tender documents.
Executive director Paul Manning said the agency kicked big fat advertising butt.
“Ogilvy brings a very strong integrated offering to the table,” Mr Manning said in a PR statement.
“This pitch required a 360 degree response – it called on our depth of resources and skill from across the agency, in particular we combined a powerful strategy and creative response with our well-known ability to deliver high-quality* work, fast.
“I believe this gave us the competitive edge that a high-profile* account like this needs.”
Ogilvy won the Pharmacybrands work after pitching against JWT.
Pharmacybrands owns Unichem and Amcal and recently merged with Life Pharmacy.
It’s also acquired the Radius Group of pharmacies.
The company selected Ogilvy because of its experience with the Life Pharmacy brand.
Ogilvy managing director Greg Partington: "We will be working hard with the Pharmacybrands team to ensure that pharmacists within the group continue to develop strong retail businesses.
"Our substantial experience at the retail interface means we can strongly support Pharmacybrands’ growth strategy by providing them with highly effective and creative advertising concepts and take full advantage of our totally integrated capability to deliver excellent service to our client."
Translation for the uninitiated: "We do awesome retail work and we're totally going to kill it for Pharmacybrands. In your face .99!"
