ComCom warns tablet, smartphone owners about in-app purchases, but no Aussie or US style crackdown for us

The Commerce Commission has issued a warning about in-app purchase (see below) — or when you click on something in a free game or other smartphone or tablet app, only to find you've actually made a purchase.

Some parents have been stung for hundreds or even thousands after kids have advertently or inadvertently made in-app purchases — often an item in a game, or the ability to short-cut to the next level.
