EDITOR'S INSIGHT: The battle for Denniston

The bleak Denniston Plateau is an odd place to stage the latest standoff between greenies and progress.

As visitors will know, on a good day at the top you can see the Tasman stretching to the horizon. On most days, though, you can see no further than your hand because of mist.

Denniston’s place in history is now largely known through the historical novels of Jenny Pattrick.
