Analysis: Every town a Gigatown: industry body readies nationwide UFB spec

Here's more bad new for hapless Porirua Mayor Nick Leggat, whose city spent around $100,000 (on a zombie game, a rap video and flags) only to fail to make the cut for the second round of Chorus' endless Gigatown competition.

The winning Gigatown will get low-cost 1 gigabit/sec (that is, corporate fast) UFB fibre plans available to all its residences, plus a $200,000 development fund.
