Almost a third of NBR ONLINE readers think there should be no limit on the amount of taxpayer money spent on the government's Christchurch rebuild blueprint.
In a poll conducted last week, 38% want public funding capped at $2.5 billion, 21% though it should be capped at $5 billion and 4% thought $10 billion should be the limit.
Eight percent believe public funds should be limited to 10% of total tax take and 30% say there should be no limit.
Earthquake Recovery Minister Gerry Brownlee has said the Crown will be the financier via CERA, but funding lines for a city plan have been set in place by the Christchurch CIty Council.
He says the government would seek partnerships with the private sector.
The blueprint's anchor projects include a 2000-seat convention centre, a health precinct, and a 35,000-seat covered stadium.
