It has been expected for some time, with the company completing a massive capital raising last year as part of its ongoing moves to transform its Marac subsidiary into a bank.
The South Island finance company’s entry into the list of the country’s top listed companies comes just a month after it was denied a place in the latest quarterly index review.
Pyne Gould Corporation has been in line to join the list for some time, but needed to prove it could keep its liquidity levels stable, in order to meet the requirements to be added to the index.
The addition of Pyne Gould Corp is the first change to the index in months after there were no changes in the last quarterly review in any of the NZX indices.
