Saatchi & Saatchi has made an account win, the first win the ad world has announced in some time after a few quiet months.

It’s stolen the Pump account from Ogilvy.

According to the company the change of agency marks a “new creative direction” for the Pump brand, which is the number one brand in its category.

Could Saatchi & Saatchi be making a charge on Ogilvy’s accounts?

Could Saatchi & Saatchi be the new Ogilvy?

Could Uncle Greg soon be singing for his supper?

(UPDATED: Ogilvy reportedly lost the account prior to this pitch and the last agency to work on Pump was Sydney-based Smart. Those with a mind for history might remember this work from Ogilvy. The agency was one of four invited to pitch.)

CCA Brands marketing manager Kylie Gallagher said Saatchi & Saatchi is the bomb diggity* and will soon be throwing down with a major new creative idea.

*Our take on things, really.

“The Pump pitch has re-affirmed for us that the level of creativity in this country is world class.

“The Saatchi team has cracked an idea that is genius, and we are fired up about our new partnership.”

Saatchi & Saatchi chief executive Nicky Bell said she is stoked to have won the pitch.

“The CCA team were extremely focused on getting the right work for Pump through this pitch. We are really proud to be awarded the account, and to be trusted with what comes next for this great brand.”
