Finance and investment company South Canterbury Finance is appointing a group treasurer as the management team tries to return the business to a solid footing.
Greg Pearse, who will report to chief executive Sandy Maier, will be responsible for cash management and forecasting, as well as other treasury functions.
South Canterbury's funding manager and financial controller had previously handled most of the new treasurer's tasks.
"Life isn't getting any easier and there are more requirements and more regulations and more people to ask us questions, so I thought it was high time to take a look at the future," Mr Maier said.
Mr Pearse would initially be appointed on a three-month contract.
He was a specialist treasury manager with experience in banking, agriculture and consumer packaging businesses.
