Cisco announces New Zealand leadership change

Leanne Buer has replaced Dave Wilson as country manager for Cisco Systems New Zealand from July 9 2019.

Global technology leader Cisco has announced leadership changes in New Zealand, with Leanne Buer assuming the role of country manager for Cisco Systems New Zealand from July 9, 2019, replacing Dave Wilson. 

Buer has been with Cisco since 2016 and has held several roles leading New Zealand’s Commercial segment, Partners and most recently expanded to include Australia and New Zealand Distributors. Her primary responsibility has been to drive growth of Cisco offerings in the New Zealand market, through distribution channels, partners and other channels.  

She is an advocate for diversity in the IT sector and has great success stories with past mentees. She is a member of the NZ Board of Directors.

Wilson has been promoted to a global sales leadership role with Cisco and is relocating to Cisco HQ in the US to lead a global team of Internet of Things (IoT) specialists.

Wilson has led the transformation of the Cisco New Zealand operation since 2015, achieving consistent growth and evolving the culture of the team. He has also been instrumental in supporting key community initiatives such as NZ Rescue Run where Cisco raised significant funds for emergency services, and most recently with Youthline, to shine a light on mental health and support them to scale their important services across NZ.
