Contact Energy charged with misleading customers on fuel discounts

Power company faces seven charges under Fair Trading Act.

The Commerce Commission has charged electricity and gas retailer Contact Energy with false or misleading representations after an investigation revealed customers were misled by its promotion offering AA Smartfuel discounts alongside electricity plans.
