Fletcher resumes dividends

Company surprised by speed and breadth of market decline in Australia.

Fletcher Building has delivered on the promises from its November annual meeting, with the resumption of dividends and a half-year profit slightly better than guidance.

However, the market was expecting better and the shares slipped 8c in early trading to $5.20.
