Kiwi Property’s new director

Leading Aussie property finance figure appointed.

Fri, 18 Oct 2019

Kiwi Property has appointed Simon Shakesheff as a non-executive director from November 1.

Shakesheff is a recognised leader in Australia’s property finance sector, with a 30-year executive career spanning several of the country’s most prolific property groups and investment banks. He is non-executive director of both Cbus Property and Assembly Funds Management, as well as a consultant to the New South Wales Treasury Corporation.

Before his governance career, Simon was group executive, strategy,

stakeholder relations and research at Stockland. Before that, he was managing director, head of Australian real estate investment banking at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, and managing director, co-head of Australian real estate investment banking at UBS Australia.

Shakesheff previously spent 19 years as an equities analyst, including as executive director, head of Real Estate Analysis at J.P Morgan Australia and executive director, head of real estate analysis, Macquarie Equities at Macquarie Bank.

Kiwi Property chair Mark Ford says Shakesheff's wealth of property analysis and advisory experience would be invaluable, as the board continued to oversee the implementation of the company’s new mixed-use strategy.

“Shakesheff brings proven expertise in corporate strategy, mergers and acquisitions, and debt and equity finance. I’m looking forward to him making an immediate impact on the Kiwi Property board as we continue delivering upon our strategic objectives for investors.”
