NZTE appoints new director

New Zealand Trade and Enterprise board appointee leading economic development adviser.

Economic Development, Trade and Export Growth Minister David Parker has appointed Traci Houpapa as a director to the board of New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE).

Ms Houpapa has advised Māori, government, the public and private sectors on strategic and economic development. She has been named as one of the top-10 most influential women in New Zealand agribusiness and in the NZ Listener’s top-10 influencers in New Zealand. She also won the Fairfax Media Women of Influence board and management award and has been named on Westpac’s New Zealand Women Powerbrokers list. She has been awarded the Massey University Distinguished Alumni Service Award for services to New Zealand agribusiness and Māori, and has been named one of the BBC’s 100 Most Influential Women in the World.

Mr Parker has also confirmed the reappointment of four other board members. Andrew Ferrier has been reappointed chairman, with Wayne Norrie appointed deputy chairman. Charles Finny and Charlotte Walshe were also reappointed as directors.
