On Tuesday afternoon, TelstraClear issued a service advisory that its servers has been restored after a devastating outage late Monday that cut email services to 180,000 customers nationwide.
A backlog of messages would be cleared quickly, the company said.
But through Wednesday, NBR continued to receive complaints from readers whose inboxes were still bare (read some of the choicer examples at the top of this story).
Late Wednesday, a TelstraClear spokeswoman told NBR: "Today there continued to be some issues with customers not getting their emails.
"This was most likely a result of synchronising issues between our servers and individual email accounts.
"Our expectation is that all mail will appear in mailboxes by start of business tomorrow [Thursday]".
So, TelstraClear ISP customers, let us now: is your email back? Email ckeall@nbr.co.nz.
Two reader have reported this morning they are still having problems. Another commented:
"At last email seems to working fine again, except there's still one email missing: from TelstraClear explaining or at least apologising."
TelstraClear chief executive Allan Freeth to not respond to an NBR call yesterday. A spokeswoman said he was "in the air".
