“The appointment of our three new board members shows that there is real engagement with where TUANZ is heading and what it can offer New Zealand businesses as users of digital technology”, says O’Connell.

The new board will continue the work on implementing TUANZ’ strategic direction – ensuring New Zealanders can make the most of the digitally connected world – and achieving its vision of New Zealand being among the top ten countries for business use of digital technology by 2020.

The new board members are:

  • Malcolm Condie - ANZ Bank

  • Rob McDonnell - Air New Zealand

  • Vaughan Baker - MyRepublic NZ

They join existing board members:

  • Donna Spargo – Downer NZ

  • Guy Alexander – Xero

  • Jenna Woolley – Network for Learning Limited

  • Liz Gosling – Auckland University of Technology

  • Maxine Elliot – Vocus Communications

  • Doug Wilson – New Zealand Automobile Association

The new board members are replacing retiring board members  David Clarke from AGC Networks, Kevin Drinkwater from Mainfreight, David Gatland and Mike Foley, both Independent members.  Chair Pat O’Connell has been re-elected for a further 12-month term.

There were 8 candidates for the three positions, and more than 50 per cent of TUANZ membership voted. The new board members will each serve two-year terms.
