Networks company Vector distributed 3 percent more electricity in the three months to September, compared to a year earlier.
The company's operational summary for the quarter showed 2331 gigawatt hours (GWh) of electricity distributed, up from 2263GWh, while electricity customer numbers were up 0.9 percent to 529,227 at September 30.
Gas distribution customers were up 1.8 percent to 152,949, while the amount of gas distributed in the quarter was 5 percent up on a year earlier to 6.3 petajoules (PJ), and transmission volume lifted 11.6 percent to 34.7PJ.
Wholesale natural gas sales fell 17.5 percent to 6.6PJ, gas liquid sales lifted 6.2 percent to 23,121 tonnes and Liquigas LPG tolling was up 35.5 percent to 41,141 tonnes.
Smart meter numbers rose to 143,620 at September 30 from 61,460 a year before.
