New Zealander Alex Kendall’s autonomous car startup Wayve has raised US$1.05 billion (NZ$1.7b) in a Series C round that ranks among the top 20 AI fundraises globally.

The round was led by Japanese venture capital firm SoftBank, with contributions from new investor Nvidia and existing investor
