Shareholders in Auckland International Airport have approved a contentious $140,000 increase in directors fees - split over two years.
Results of shareholder vote at the company’s annual meeting in Auckland today reveal just under 98% of shareholders were in favour of the total increase from $129,000 to $150,000.
However the 12.2% increase will be split over two years – after directors last year backed down from initial plans to adopt the total increase in one year.
The amendment won the approval of the Shareholders Association, which opposed the initial proposal.
It is the third fee increase for Auckland Airport directors in five years.
