Allianz global assistance appoints new chief operations officer

Bart Taylor joins AGA with plans to boost local team.

Wed, 26 Aug 2015

Bart Taylor has taken up the position of chief operating officer at Allianz Global Assistance, New Zealand’s largest travel insurance and assistance provider.

Coming to AGA with a financial services and insurance background, Bart’s focus will be around strengthening and expanding the company’s operations team, creating new roles to support the customer experience.

He is already making inroads to increase the company’s NZ-based contact centre and claims team, with the end goal to boost engagement and simplify processes for those engaging with AGA’s partners and their customers.

Phil Hibbert, chief executive officer at Allianz Global Assistance, commented,

“Our role is to provide a world class service right here in NZ, and I see Bart as central to that commitment. Bart’s passion for the industry coupled with stellar institutional knowledge positions him as the ideal candidate to help us deliver market leading customer service.

“Since joining Allianz Global Assistance, Bart has already undertaken a thorough review of our operations and has identified a number of areas for growth, starting with the expansion and refinement of our customer services team.

“We welcome Bart on board and look forward to continuing to grow the team under his stewardship as we see out the remainder of 2015 and move into 2016.”

Bart joins the company from IAG where he headed up Lantern Insurance, replacing Bob Davie who stepped down from the company earlier this year for health reasons.
